What the editor focuses on
The editor corrects major mistranslations, missing information, misleading grammar and essential terminology. Numbers, names and instructions receive attention within the agreed scope. Minor awkwardness may remain when it does not undermine comprehension.
Where it may fit
Potential uses include internal reference material and preliminary information review. Suitability depends on the content and risk. Light MTPE should not be selected simply because a document is long or a budget is limited.
Where more review is needed
Public-facing, safety-critical, legally consequential and clinically sensitive material normally needs a more demanding brief. We can discuss full MTPE, independent review or human translation rather than applying a limited service to an unsuitable use.
Agree acceptance criteria
Provide the source, machine output, intended reader and purpose. We assess a sample and agree what will be corrected, what style limitations may remain and how issues will be escalated.
