A fuller editing scope
The post-editor checks the target against the source and corrects meaning, omissions, additions, grammar, punctuation, terminology and unnatural phrasing. Brand voice and subject conventions guide the editing where references are supplied.
Quality is a defined target
We agree the style guide, glossary, audience and acceptance criteria. An independent bilingual review can be added. Full post-editing alone should not be described as a certification or a guarantee of acceptance by an institution.
The source still matters
Ambiguous instructions and inconsistent source terminology can survive even extensive editing. Questions are referred back to you, and highly unsuitable machine output may be better handled through human translation.
Complete the production chain
For designed or interactive content, the edited text still needs layout or in-context checks. Add DTP for publications and linguistic QA for final documents, websites or interfaces as required.
